Have you ever drooled over an item at a particular store again and again because you absolutely love it, but for some reason or another (it’s just dumb really) you never buy it. Then one day you go into this store to look at the item yet again hoping upon hope that it hasn’t sold out. You anxiously walk/run to the items area trying not to seem over zealous, cause come on, it’s only a pair of shoes, right? (or so you try to convince yourself). You round the corner, turn down the aisle and find that not only is this item on sale, but they only have one left and it’s your size! As a single tear runs down your cheek you realize the phrase “Good things come to those who wait” could never be any more true than in that moment! These shoes are my “item”. I promise I looked at these shoes twenty times before I went in on a fools hope and found them on sale (Don’t ask me why I waited so long like an idiot 😉 ). Needless to say I was just a little bit excited about this find!
This outfit is very fashionable, but still practical at the same time. I bought this button up shirt at Walmart, yes Walmart, for about $8, this sweater is from The Limited, but I found it at Goodwill and you already know the story behind my beautiful shoes. What I’m trying to say is that you don’t have to be expensive to look expensive. A lot of people look at fashion blogs or people who enjoy putting outfits together and say, “Well that looks great on them, but I don’t have the money/skill for that look.” Not true!! Being fashionable can be practical as well! You can put together so many chic and stylish outfits and not spend a fortune on any of it! No joke probably half of the items within my wardrobe came from Goodwill/flea markets/yard sales or were on sale for super cheap. Now I do occasionally spend more money on something I love or a staple item, but it is a decently rare occurrence. When most of your closet consists of items you found at a cheaper price, then you can justify spending more on the items you truly love and can’t live without! I don’t hesitate to tell people I got a particular item of clothing from Goodwill when they ask, because if you can look like a runway model from New York when in reality your outfit cost you a grand total of $10, that’s something to talk about! It is all in how your present yourself!
In other news, I just might be sharing some Goodwill/thrift shopping pointers in my next post ;). So stay tuned! Also, the amazing little store, Moorea Seal, where I purchased my Audrey sunglasses in my last post contacted me and gave me a promo code to share with all of you to get 10% off your orders through out the year of 2014! How sweet is that?! They are having a jewelry sale this weekend also, so I would go check them out if I were you! 😉 The promo code is “AUDREYBLOG” so make sure you pay them a visit! Have a wonderful weekend guys!
