I have been captivated recently by recycling. I read this news story one day about Global Warming’s effect on the Great Barrier Reef, and it really woke me up. I couldn’t get over that my waste here in little Nashville, TN was causing a lifeformbnbv so far away to suffer and die. I have always been somewhat conscious of my waste and have tried to recycle, but honestly never made it a priority. I thought to myself, “I hate that this is happening, but I’m just one person. What can I do?” I quickly realized how self-centered my thoughts were and wondered how things could improve if every “one person” actually took action. So now I recycle everything I can and take it to the recycling plant myself because I want to reduce the carbon footprint I leave behind.

I began to realize that this idea is no different when it comes to clothing and fashion. I might have been slacking when recycling trash, but when it comes to shopping and contributing to used clothing, I am the master! I have been shopping at and donating to Goodwill and other thrift stores since before I can remember, and I love every minute of it! Of course I don’t exclusively thrift/shop at Goodwill, but I can honestly say that half, if not more, of my wardrobe was thrifted! Want to know the funny thing? I bet you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference on 99% of it! So why not thrift and give some Goodwill treasures new life in your wardrobe? You will not only be contributing to a good cause by shopping at Goodwill, but you will be helping the environment by recycling used clothing and not to mention getting a heck of a deal!

Affectionately, Audrey ❤

P.S. I love this Notorious BIG t-shirt so much. Also, this “choker” is a waist tie I thought I had lost from an old dress I gave to Goodwill a long time ago. So I just recycled it into a necklace! 😉
